Privacy Policy

Muokai for iPhone · Effective 4 October 2026

Muokai is a photo editing app. This policy explains what the app does with your photos and the small amount of data it needs to work. The short version: there is no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking. Your photo leaves your phone only when you ask for an edit, and Muokai does not keep it.

What happens when you edit a photo

When you tap Auto, pick a look, or type a request, the app sends a reduced copy of the photo (long edge 512 pixels) together with your words over an encrypted connection to Muokai's server. The server forwards them to an AI model provider, currently OpenAI, which returns a list of adjustments such as exposure, contrast and temperature. The adjustments are applied on your phone to your full-resolution photo. The full-resolution photo never leaves your device.

Anonymous device identity and usage limits

Muokai has no accounts. To offer a daily number of free edits and to prevent abuse, the app uses Apple's App Attest to create an anonymous key on your device. Our server stores that key's identifier, its public key, the environment it was created in, and a count of edits per day. None of this identifies you, and we cannot connect it to a name, email address, Apple ID, or phone number.

A one-way hash of that identifier is passed to the model provider with each request as an anonymous safety identifier, so that misuse can be attributed to a single device rather than to all Muokai users. The app may also send an Apple DeviceCheck token so that a device blocked for abuse stays blocked after reinstalling. Apple does not share any information about your device with us.

What stays on your phone

What we do not do

Service providers

Retention

Photos and requests: not retained by Muokai. Anonymous device key and daily counts: kept while the device remains active, for abuse prevention. Server logs: per the hosting provider's standard retention.

Your choices

Because we hold no information that identifies you, there is nothing for us to look up or export on request. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. If you have a question or concern, email emirdurakovicdev@gmail.com.

Children

Muokai is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
